IMPETU´S



Jesús Carmona was born in Barcelona, in 1985. At the age of 16 he made his professional debut in the Teatro Zorrilla, accompanied by the orchestra of the Barcelona Liceu. In 2004 he graduated in Spanish Dance and Flamenco from Barcelona’s Institut del Teatre. 

His classical dance training continued with such figures as Bárbara Kasprovich, Rodolfo Castellano, and Carmen Huguet. He then went on to broaden his education in flamenco under masters like Antonio Canales, Eva Yerbabuena, Aída Gómez, Domingo Ortega, and Manuela Carrasco, among others. Between 2002 to 2006 he worked for the Nuevo Ballet Español and in the troupes of Carmen Cortés, El Güito, Rafael Amargo, Antonio Canales, and La Truco. He is a leading soloist and guest artist working alongside prestigious dances such as Lola Greco, Adela Campallo, Isaac de los Reyes, and Olga Pericet. 

In 2006 he created his first show, El silencio de la luna, to great acclaim from the public and the critics. In 2007 he became the principal dancer of the Spanish National Ballet, where he remained until 2010. In 2011 he created his second show, Cuna Negra & Blanca, conceived as a new step forward in his artistic and personal development. 

Since then he has continued creating shows, partnering with other artists, and performing in theatres and festivals in Spain and abroad.
