World-renowned conductor Zubin Mehta, 89, has announced his decision to cancel all artistic engagements and projects in "Israel" in protest of what he described as genocide and the grave violations committed against the Palestinian people.
Mehta explained that his decision includes severing ties with the "Israel Philharmonic Orchestra," an institution his name was linked to for over 55 years.
He emphasized that ignoring the current events in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank is no longer morally acceptable, given the widespread destruction, the thousands of victims, and the ongoing policies of oppression and settlement expansion
