Artist and designer Benjamin Shine is widely known for his “Flow” series featuring ethereal depictions of a woman’s face made from a single stretch of tulle.
The artist uses the tulle in bright pinks, blues, and purples to craft intricate portraits demonstrating peaceful expressions and evoking a feeling of meditation.
His use of the delicate material conveys ideas surrounding the fleeting and ephemeral.
A graduate of the fashion design program at London’s Central St. Martins, Shine has worked across a variety of disciplines throughout his career, from art and fashion to furniture and product design.
Shine has worked with numerous notable fashion houses, including a 2013 collaboration with Givenchy working alongside the company’s creative director to create a limited edition series of his tulle pieces.
